Torino 2016 was a huge success and achieved one of the largest number of Montecarlos attending a club event. We’ve had lots of requests to repeat the event and the committee have agreed that the club will return to Turin in 2019.

The event will take place in September 2019, leaving the UK on the 8th, travelling through France and arriving in Turin on the 10th and returning to the UK on the 18th.

The event will include some of the best bits from 2006/16 as well as some new attractions, excursions and great roads.

We expect the cost to be kept under £1150 per person (charged as £2300 per car) and this will need to be paid in advance of the event. We will require instalments to be paid along the way and like 2016, we are hoping to be able to return money at the end of the event. 2016 saw a budgeted cost of £1100 which reduced to £950 and then a £70 refund after the event. 2019 will likely see an increase in costs due to exchange rates and anticipated increased hotel costs in Turin.

If you’d like to come along, we’ll need a £100 non-refundable deposit per person, paid no later than 31st January 2018. We will be limiting the numbers to 20 cars and bookings will be accepted on a first come - first served basis, so paying promptly will be a sensible move if you want to be sure of a space. Instalments will be required at preset intervals as before and if you have to withdraw for any reason, refunds will not be possible, although we will endeavour to sell your spaces. Please note that this event will be charged ‘per car’ so sole travellers will unfortunately have to pay extra initially and we will endeavour to return funds over time, once restaurant and hotel costs become formalised

To make your bookings, please send your payments to the club bank account (40-16-05  62031124) or our Paypal account (treasurer@montecarlo.org.uk) for £103.50 per person and email me at presidente@montecarlo.org.uk to confirm your payment. In your email, please include any dietary requirements you have, travellers’ names, mobile numbers, your car reg’n number an whether it’s a Monte or a different vehicle (just for my info and can be changed!). If you’re attending the event for the first time, please let me have yours and your partner’s full names as appear on your passports. The Whatsapp group will be used again and you will be added to the group if you’re a new traveller.

One VERY important requirement is that you please confirm in your email that we may use your email and ‘phone numbers to communicate with you up to, during and after the event!

Happy Monteing and see you all soon!

Ciao!

David

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Arrangements are moving forward really well.  We will be meeting in Troyes on the afternoon of 8th September and will travel through France and arriving in Turin on Tues 10th. After a couple of nights in Turin, we will travel East and will be staying at an hotel on the edge of Lake Como for three nights. There’s a roof top terrace overlooking the Lake and we have spa access for one day during the stay. We’ll be driving the most famous road in the world, the Stelvio Pass and after three days, we return to Turin and will be staying at the Lingotto Congress - the hotel under the FIAT test track where we’ll have access to the rooftop. The journey home starts on Mon 16th and we’ll be staying near Amiens on 17th, ready for our crossings on Wed 18th!
